Celebrating a Legacy of Women’s Health—and the Scientists Shaping Its Future
In 2025, Medinova—Switzerland’s pharmaceutical company dedicated to advancing women’s health—celebrated 80 years of improving lives through science‑based solutions. Guided by the belief that research and education are essential to improve patient care, Medinova created the Medinova Young Researcher Award (MYRA) to honor early‑career scientists whose work is driving meaningful progress in vaginal health.
This past October, Medinova proudly served as Gold Sponsor at the 6th International Society for Infectious Diseases in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISIDOG) conference in Belgrade—an ideal setting to launch the inaugural MYRA. The scientific committee selected two outstanding researchers whose innovative work stood out among many strong submissions:
- Huanrong Li — “Streptococcus anginosus promotes adverse pregnancy outcomes by inflammation”
- Junyi Bai — “A novel therapeutic approach for aerobic vaginitis: local vaginal application of traditional Chinese medicine”
Why two winners in this first edition? Because this moment celebrates two milestones: Medinova’s 80th anniversary and the birth of an award designed to grow for decades to come. With MYRA, Medinova aims to give back to the scientific community—supporting impactful research and encouraging the next generation of innovators.
The launch of the MYRA is more than a celebration; it’s a reaffirmation of Medinova’s long‑standing commitment to women’s health and its future.
